The Academy of Travel & Tourism senior class would like to thank you for all of the time and hard work that you invested in our Senior Trip. Your dedication helped make our trip an unforgettable experience. We also appreciate the opportunity that was provided for us in being able to experience Arizona and all it has to offer.

– Miami Fl Senior High

We took the two hour rugged jeep tour with Smokey and had a very good time. Smokey is knowledgeable on the terrain and history of the area. We are in our 60's and had no problems with the ride. Much better than the Sedona jeep ride we went on last year. Thanks to Apache Trail Tours for an excellent tour.

We are writing to let you know how much we enjoyed our tour. We found the views breathtaking and your guide very informative and knowledgeable of the plant life and the history of the area. We are recommending to all that we know that will be visiting Arizona that it should be a must in their plans that they partake in one of your tours!

– Bud & Sharon A, Lannon, MI

I am just writing to tell you what a fantastic time I had last Friday and to thank you for taking me on such a lovely adventure. The desert and the mountains are just beautiful and I feel so lucky to have enjoyed them so close up. Your guide, Flapjack, was just super. He was knowledgeable, friendly, informative and pleasant. He was a great companion for the excursion.

– Karen D, Embry-Riddle, Prescott, AZ

The Tours were Awesome! thank you so much! All the feedback I received was "awesome," "great," guides were so “informative," "did a great job”, & “stopped for photo ops upon request! ", etc. etc. Our thanks to you for helping make our Rally a success!

– Julia, B-AABC/Washington DC

Your desert tour was fantastic! The kids said they thought it was better than the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland.

– Courtney S, California

I am so grateful for the personal tour through the desert. It was a terrific experience! You can’t put dollar values on an experience so precious. I was lucky to find someone so knowledgeable of the desert!

– Renae

On behalf of our company I would like to thank you for a fun off-road desert jeep tour ride. Our party had many nice compliments to say about this tour. A good time was had by everyone.

About Our Tours

Our off-road tours, although not extreme, are rough and rugged. The tour routes traverse primitive uneven trails that include rocky sections as well as some climbs and descents. Warnings are issued for anyone with back, neck or hip issues.

Differences between 4×4 tours:

  • 30 Min Tour – Rolling Non-Stop-brief introduction to the Sonoran Desert.
  • 1 Hr. Tour – Wider loop, more information on plants, animals & history.
  • 90 Min Tour – Rolling Non-Stop – one pull-over for a picture snap while seated in tour vehicle.
  • 2 Hr. Tour – picture stops, most information on the Lost Dutchman, legends, lore, plants and animals.

Our smooth, scenic tour to Tortilla Flat is driven on the famous Apache Trail Highway. The paved route travels through a canyon area with beautiful vistas, high cliffs, sheer drop offs and hairpin turns. The top speed is about 30 mph but warnings are issued for anyone prone to motion sickness.

An Unforgettable Experience

The most ancient highway in all of North America, the Apache Trail flaunts its irresistible beauty with mighty canyons, jagged mountain peaks, and sparkling desert lakes while exuding the flavor and romance of the old West. As one of the most scenic drives in the country, it is also one of the most dangerous. You can enjoy it worry free as our experienced and knowledgeable tour guides weave the trails and tales that make this land so intriguing!

“The Apache Trail combines the grandeur of the Alps, the glory of the Rockies, the magnificence of the Grand Canyon and then adds the indefinable something that none of the others have. To me it is the most beautiful panorama nature has created.”

– President Theodore Roosevelt

Trip Advisor Review

“Have been on pink jeep tours, and this one does them one better. It wasn’t just about the off road ups and downs, it was about the stories and the knowledge that we were entertained with. It was a true learning experience. Dusty our guide really knew his stuff!”
